Wedding Bells

Calgary, Canada

We started the day with a great breakfast at Denny's with Brian & Jill. We had a little time before the wedding so we headed over to the Olympic Park which was not far from our hotel. It was hard to imagine the place as a winter Olympics site, as it was very hot and sunny. Bikers were riding up on the chair/bike lift and mountain biking down the hill. After a leisurely stroll around the park, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. On the way to the wedding (or was it between the wedding and the reception?) we found a hardware store so I could get some velcro tape to cover the velcro hooks on my wrist splint that were snagging my new skirt. The four of us, all dressed in our wedding best, felt a little silly walking around the hardware store looking for velcro, but we accomplished our mission! Finally, we were heading for the wedding...

This is what had brought us to Canada...the wedding of Dianne and Brett! This was our second Beta 4 gang wedding. What a wonderful celebration it was! The wedding was beautiful and everything went off without a hitch....oops, I guess there was the one big "hitch," Dianne to Brett! And it was great to finally see Gord and Annie and family, as well as Carl & Wendy and their family. Nicole and Samantha were lovely bridesmaids, and we were all amazed at how tall Brandon and Matthew had become!

We enjoyed great company, food and dancing at the reception. Brandon and his friend were the DJs for the dance. Funny wigs and hats were available for silly pictures, and ended up being worn by several throughout the evening. We had a great time catching up with the gang, and finding out what had been going on in everyone's lives since our last reunion.
