Rainy Morning = Shopping Day
We woke up to a rainy, overcast sky, and the forecast called for rain most of the morning. So the women had already planned a shopping day in Walker. I went with Beth, Mom, Chloe, Leah, Nicole & Elise (in 2 cars) and we had a great time finding fun things we can only get in Minnesota, like Highlander Grogg coffee, clothing with no tax, and other fun things! We ate lunch at the Tea Room (not quite "Grandma's Tea Room" from the good ol' days, but some similarities), and arrived as Deb, Wenda and Aunt Sone were finishing up. We made plans to meet them in the mid-afternoon for ice-cream.
As the stores closed, Mom headed back to Cass Lake, and Tom, Seth, Bill, William & Zach came down to Walker to meet us girls. From there we headed on to Park Rapids to Zhateau Zorbaz, our favorite Mexican/Pizza joint in all of Minnesota! We had a fun time reading the menu, and all enjoyed a great meal. When we arrived back at Birch Villa, it was time for the weekly game of Texas Hold 'em. Several of the kids and adults from our group joined in on the fun. We also heard the big fish tales of the day, including Courtney's (Phil & Wenda's daughter) Muskie catch! With the help of our resort owner as a guide, she was able to catch a 51-inch, 45-pound muskie, and has pictures to prove it! Tonight Leah & Nicole will be sleeping over at Grandma & Grandpa's cabin.
