For the 1st of July, today was one of the coolest we can remember. It was overcast and rainy at times, and the high temperature was around 58. Brrrrr. So, as is our tradition on gray, cool days at the Lake...we escaped to Walker for a little shopping. The girls and I went down in the car with Chloe driving (since she now has her permit and needs to get her 50 hours in), and Seth & Tom came later...Tom on his bike, and Seth in the other car. It was a cold, wet ride for Tom, but he brought along a change of clothes, so we could venture out on our "date night," while the kids went back to the resort.

From Walker, Tom and I drove northeast to Forestedge Winery...an annual tradition. We chatted with the owner while tasting our favorite wines (Rhubarb, Chokecherry, Early White Cranberry, etc.), and stocked up for another year. After the winery, we continued on to Bemidji for dinner. We've been to Tutto Bene's before and knew it was a great little Italian restaurant, and once again, we were not disappointed. The date night special included a bottle of wine, appetizer/salad, entree and a dessert to share for a very reasonable $50. The food was amazing, as was the company, of course.
