Keeping my "sandwich" happy
After a less-than-exciting breakfast in the hotel, Chloe and I set out on our mission to cover all of our favorite stores in a few short hours, while Mom and Dad waited back at the hotel. I really felt the pressure of being in the "sandwich" generation as I tried to shop long enough to keep my fashionista daughter happy, while quitting soon enough to keep my parents happy, as they waited impatiently at the hotel.
I was quite proud of myself as we drove away from the hotel at 1:00 p. m. Leaving the mall area this early was definitely a record! Mom and Dad were happy to be on their way to the lake and Chloe was happy with her great fashion finds (although would have shopped longer if she could have). We stopped for lunch and gas, and later went to Cub Foods in Baxter where Chloe and I made a grocery run while Mom and Dad ate ice cream at Culver's.
The drive was uneventful, and we arrived at Birch villa around 7:00 pm. Since we usually drive the final miles in the dark, it was fun to actually see and enjoy the lovely Minnesota scenery for a change!
