Shirts, shoes, shorts and more!
After a quick soak in the whirlpool, and a filling Best Western breakfast, we packed up the car and drove over to REI. We laughed as we remembered the first time we passed by REI on the freeway, and how Jared went bonkers when he realized that this amazing store could be found on our route to the lake. Stopping at REI has since become an annual tradition, and on this visit Chloe found a backpack for school in the fall, and I got some good deals on bike shorts, pants, jacket and gloves. Next stop, MOA. I'm sure we all met our step goals (and surpassed some budget goals), and had a good time finding some great 4th of July sales, and added up the savings of having no tax on clothes!
By 8:00 p.m., we finally called it quits and started the last leg of our trip to Cass Lake. With only one restroom break we were able to make good time, and arrived a couple minutes before midnight. We were tired, and since my mom and dad and sister Phyllis (who are sharing our cabin this first week) were already in bed and/or sleeping, we decided to unpack the car in the morning and hit the hay. It felt good to be "home!"
